Sorry Allan, that is not what I believe! I have no issue with true continuous cruisers who travel the system continuously. I object to people who claim they se continuous cruisers but then just move back and forth within a very restricted area as they wish to remain in one place for whatever reason. They are the people I believe should pay for a mooring. I also believe your second point about the attitude of certain BW staff may be influenced by their views on whether the boaters they are dealing with are genuine continuous cruisers or not. www.jannock.org.uk -------------------------- Graham Let your email find you with BlackBerry from Vodafone -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Sun Apr 22 06:45:02 2007 Subject: [canals-list] Re: Allan's Rant --- In [email protected], "Brian Holt" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > "Brian Dominic" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > : [Default] On Sat, 21 Apr 2007 10:25:57 +0100, "Susan Burchett" > > : > : >Have we any 'right' to know who has paid and by what method? > : > > : My view is that as fully-paid-up users, you should have the right to > : know that other people are also fully paid up because it's unfair to > : YOU that anybody should get away with not paying. Not only that but most people, when on the canals meander through them and have much more time to ponder about the unfairness of the non-payers and the people who do not contribute to the upkeep of the waterways. Incidently, people like Graham? who think that everbody should have moorings, (And pay for them) should bear in mind that the hard earned cash, (Or in my case pension) does not contribute to the well being, upkeep and keeping the aterways in good condition. Going back to the basis of "ALLANS RANT" it ws the beauocracy about the legal rules and regulations that I object to, when canal and river staff SHOULD BE more intersted in a positive attitude to canal users and the intellegent application and discretion of the "rules" ~Allan~ Yahoo!
