In that case it could be two things:
Cobwebs or dirt (as Mike suggested) shorting out th electrodes
Faulty Piezo igniter unit
(Along shot third) Broken igniter wire

I've never forgotten Tarn as it was a boat that I really admired all 
those years ago at the National on the Lee and Stort (somewhere, 
can't remember the name now). I have also admitted in the past how I 
borrowed the idea for the wet steerer's area being separated from the 
bed by that bulkhead. We've used just that on Albion. Somehow you 
never forget a boat that really inspires a desire to own just such a 
vessel.
