Personally, moderated or not, I would prefer the IWA to run a news list for no other reason than take soundings from its membership. But this, of course, is the very reason it won't happen since one sometimes wonders if the organisation is interested in what its members think.
There have been improvements recently, but the idea of a consultation is to garner a variety of views and from that devise a policy. It is not to use the process to find views to support a policy which has already underway.
