Thanks to those who gave me some clues about the likely cost of
replating our very elderly Springer. It's looking now that it's really
not worth doing it - the boat doesn't really warrant the cost and we
feel, although we have had great fun with Thumper over the years (Peter
has owned her since 1975), we don't use her enough any more to think of
spending so much money (even if we had it!). So, my next, reluctant
question is does anyone know of anyone in our area (Shroppie, near
Nantwich), who buys boats for repair or scrap?
