I am VERY hot under the collar about this. But I'm not sure what we
can do about it atm. As I'm just about to retire onto Epiphany, with a
fixed income (give or take the RPI) I don't like the sound of this at
all. Looks like it will have to be continuous cruising from next year
and for ever.

Is this all the thanks we get for lobbying for reinstated funding? I'm
relatively young, but what about the people who have given their spare
time to bring the canals up to the current standard? Are they to be
forced to stay moored where they are for the rest of their lives
because they can't afford to move to a new mooring because of the
auction-inflated mooring costs?

Seems like this should be the next battle - the Battle of the SOM
(Save Our Moorings)?
