I feel so sorry that Brenda decided to go back to the market the following day early when there weren't many people around. If she (and you) had gone when it was busy, you'd have got a completely different impression of the place, because like most of London, it's actually the people that make it. Yes the alcho's and the Goths around the bottom few locks in the Camden 'flight' are pretty sad examples of humanity, but don't be tempted into thinking that they are represent anything except themselves. Camden on a busy day is full of the full flower of London kids: bright, sharp, fun, enjoying the place and enjoying their own company. In truth, when you see them all together, you recognise that most of the heavy-looking Goths are no more than little 13-year-olds with black make up; and in truth, most of those wandering around with cans are just kids testing the limits as kids have always done.
