In our pre-live-aboard days when we did a lot of weekending, we nearly
always tied up on the towpath - the circumstances in which we wouldn'
were (a) if we needed to leave the boat unattended an two weeks, or (b) if
we felt the area we were in was vandal-rone or (c) we were combining leaving
the boat between trips with having some maintenance work done on it.
