Is the same British Waterways as the one which is currently fleecing us on
everything from licence increases to mooring charges, the same one that is
closing down boatyards and buying up our favourite pubs in order to sign
them over to a conglomerate selling pi$$ water? The same British Waterways
that is selling off lock cottages, letting the heritage that it is charged
to protect go to wrack and ruin while the maintanance backlog accumulates.
The same British Waterways that is attempting to run itself not as a public
body, but as a property speculation company, buying up chunks of
docklands at the same time as it is selling off canal land to every
two-bit developer from Bath to Blackburn?

What do I make of this? What I make of it is the growing realisation that
the IWA is totally out of touch with its membership to be generating such
craven nonsense.
