After 40 years of British canals, we're off to France on 30 June for our first experience of French canals (apart from towpath walks during various holidays in France). We'll be spending two weeks on the Canal Lateral de la Loire and the southern part of the Canal du Nivernais. Does anyone have any thoughts to share about boating in France in general and these waterways in particular?
