Hiya all,
For anyone up north as is interested, Since last Thursday afternoon the
Cheshire ring has been closed to the east of Manchester due to a tail gate on
Lock 10 of the Ashton having been damaged. The damage is very low down on one
of the gates so how it happened is a bit of a mystery. We've been hanging
around on a nice mooring at Piccadilly village in Manchester in the hope that
it would be fixed, but a walk up on Tuesday afternoon to lock 10 revealed no
obvious sign of progress so we're going back down the Rochdale nine. After
giving the North West Wrgies a lift paper chasing on Sat we're going to do the
ring the other way around in the hope the Ashton will be open again by October.
