I suspect that part of the reason may be that the quiet bar may not have 
been a financial success.  It was considerably smaller than the main bar, 
and served a significantly lesser selection of beers.  In fact in generally 
gave out the message that it was a ghetto for a few weirdos, which wasn't a 
welcoming feeling.

What I'd like to see is a return to having two bars, but with the music in 
the small one.  Or going back even further into past practice with no music 
in the bar and a separate nearby venue for the music so that people could 
carry their pints from one to t'other.
