I fully agree with you. Doing the little jobs now would save the almighty backlog of maintenance that we had recently. Painting is going ahead. Newbury lock mechanisms are being painted at present. The towpath has been cut for walkers but not boaters. There is a 24hr mooring sign that you can't see for the 4' high towpath 'fringe'. The edge will be cut at the last cut of the year!
