Where do we start apart from that we will miss Mike very much for so many things not least his wicked sense of humour, the canal quizzes, his support and role within Save Our Waterways and mainly for his passion for the inland waterways, he was truely an inspiration and his knowledge was amazing. Both Simon and I were very keen to hear him give a lecture at the Ricky Festival but were so busy collecting signatures for the SOW petition that we missed it. Both of us are very saddened that we will now never hear Mike give a formal lecture but feel very privilaged to have listened to what he knew and to have enjoyed his company on quite a few occasions over the last few years. We have lost a good friend. We have also lost a huge resource and energy in campaigning for a better future for the inland waterways. The fight must go on for our waterways to be valued, respected, looked after properly and properly funded. Our hearts go out to Wendy at this difficult time. Such a great shock to us all. Bet the cats are confused too. I've run out of words ... Mike you will be very much missed by a great many of us. Pint of Pedigree or similar in heaven mate and another round of putting the world to rights? We thoroughly enjoyed our last session in the Rising Sun earlier this summer. We never thought it would be our last. The next round is on us. Gods bless you. Debbi & Simon nb TIAMI
