Not quite silent - you can hear it all happening down in the 'ole, and
a single cylinder most certainly does have vibration ;-) - but then
having that HUGE prop under your feet about 36" x 36" you feel the
vibration of that as much as anything, especially when it picks up
rubbish - quite different to handling a cruiser with a 12" screw.

whistle - who uses the whistle ;-))
