Hi Phil.

Never more than two mostly. My first GG *Harriet* who first jumped
aboard at Bill Appleby's end of the Harecastle Tunnel in '82 went to
the National Rally at Wigan in '83 with her companion *Cressida*. And
two were at Sutton Stop in '84 when our first son Joshua was just a
few weeks old. They also went to an Ellesmere Port Easter Gathering
one year and spent a wonderful Xmas at Stoke Bruerne in '84.
Occasionally I had kids onboard for a short while until they went to
new homes. Harriet had triplets on the Peak Forest in '85 (and we also
had a litter of English Setters born New Year's Day at Whaley Bridge).
Another one kidded at Wheaton Aston water point, and later on twin
Harriet daughters both kidded with twins on the same day on the old
butty Heron at Wood Eaton on the Shroppie where we spent some time. I
did hear of one or two other goats boating but not on a permanent
basis. Mine loved it. They had a small stable door and when travelling
would watch where we were going with the canvas between their
forecabin and the main cabin rolled up. Harriet also had a habit of
putting her front feet on the cross beam right in the bow and sticking
her head out of the hatch like a figurehead. This caused many a laugh
as most people didn't know what she was. Her descendants are now
landlubbers in Gnosall not far from the Shroppie.
*Gerald" No 13 (1912) comes back to the boatyard for maintenance as
required with current owner Roy. Happy memories.

Cheers,
Christine.
