Each episode is taken apart on another site. Current theory is that as the whole thing is in the ladies mind a lot of the stuff is out of year and it's all a bit of a mix up so they can do as they please. (And why is her dress sense so bad plus has she got no other clothes that might be more right for a lady copper in the 1980s.)
