One of our crew who lives in Retford went out yesterday to have a look
at the pound above Town Lock and reported that the 3" mentioned on
Waterscape may be a bit of an understatement. It's my understanding
(YMMV) that the canal is down nearer 18" and in his opinion currently
un-navigable. Anyone planning on exploring that stretch may be better
off checking before making the trip. It's not an issue for us at the
moment as we've got no work planned that needs us to be heading in
that direction.
