In our Grandson's Thomas book the narrowboat has 'Sodor Valley" painted on it.

  Dave,

I've had all flavours of DVB receivers - USB dongle, PCI card (current), Set
top box, Digital TV. In my opinion the best way to get DVB is with a
Digital TV - that's always given the best reception. For a PC the PCI card
is much better than the dongle. The key point is (as always) the aerial -
plump for an external aerial, and don't split the signal (and *DON'T* ever
use a mains powered signal splitter/booster - that put so much noise on the
digital channels - OK for analogue). When I moved here I had a large pole
fixed to the chimney (it's a bungalow with chimney on the side), there are
now three aerials on this pole. So if you can get DVB with a dongle, I'll
wager you can get it with a set top box or Digital TV - providing you have
an outside aerial. I would have thought you would have a reasonable line of
sight to Bluebell Hill - or is that too far away. I know I'm lucky now, as
if I get up the ladder to align the aerial(s), I can see the white top of
  the Lancaster repeater.
