You may not have seen John's announcement on u.r.w.: "Both our boats are for sale now on Apollo Duck. Stokie ad id 85290 and Islander id 77343. Both price's are only a guide. I had to enter something. I also emphasise that until Stokie is sold, we will continue selling diesel on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal .. The reason for this decision to sell, is that from 1st June 2008, our marina will not renew our two moorings. Still there is no clear reason as to why. We have ideas, so too have lots of other people. It also materialised at a meeting with BW in Gloucester yesterday, some 29 on-line moorings on this canal are to go. Strange that this has come to light since the opening of a new marina down here. As a result, BW say that they cannot accommodate us on-line. However, Bw have said that they will try talking to our Marina operator in an attempt to resolve the issue. Whatever it is. We hold no hope. So, if you come this way during the summer and see us out on the canal with our boats, please stop for a chat. As always, we will be pleased to see every one. Just make yourselves known. " John & Brioni are very down at the moment, they stand to lose their homes and livelihood and the canal will lose a service and two characters.
