A man had to be airlifted to hospital after falling from a Staffordshire canal boat and cutting his leg on the propeller. Paramedics were called to the scene off Long Street, Wheaton Aston, just before 1720 BST on Sunday. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said the man, in his 40s, had suffered a deep cut to his leg. He was taken to Wolverhampton's New Cross Hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
