We have numerous computers in the house, with four in everyday use. For years I used (increasingly elderly) B&W lasers while the other computers used assorted colour inkjet printers. These cost a fortune as they were used very rarely, so the ink dried up, which meant a new set of cartridges .... Eventually my laser died, so we got a Brother MFC820CW which has its own wireless connection. Because everyone can use it, no matter what other computers are on or off, the ink doesn't get a chance to dry out. It scans, copies and faxes (absit omen) too, and various camera cards can be plugged straight in to it. The only problem is that it sometimes forgets it's alive. bjg
