Hi Folks, back from the lurking after reading BW`s comment in the towpath talk ( page 53, Talkback ) about the extra charge of £150 per year for CC`s.
link. http://www.mpldigital.com/mortons-media/towpath-talk/38/52 It`s just pure spin, manipulating and missing out facts that don`t go along with BW`s idea of management. I know it`s been a long drawn out topic about CC`ers, but mark my words this is the thin end of the wedge, I think licence by length is the next to go, then charge by colour, items on roofs ( please send all suggestions too BW`s sink opps think tank) etc. The spin was used to put CC`s under the same banner as Con Moorers, a huge difference but not in the majority of boater eyes, who swallow the spin. BW has the enforcement in place to stop the con moorers, but it`s not cost effective as was their ` getting people to use the waterways`, bollards, out-sourcing consultations, mooring auctions etc, etc. The spin is to pull you away from their cock ups, put boaters against boaters and they`ll get on with their prime objective, bonus, bonus and not forgetting bonus. Each cock up they achive they get a bonus, fixing what should be fixed, no bonus. I leave you with this, if you are a CC`er and are in the lower length bracket license fee, then look forward too a 58% increase. If that does`nt scare the rest of us then the future looks really bleak. Oh, and don`t forget about the wide beamers. Off soap box Till the next time.
