There are various Google Mobile programs, including Maps, that you can download direct to your phone by going to m.google.co.uk
The download was about 1MB, I think, but when the program is in use it pulls in maps, traffic and satellite views whenever you zoom or scroll around. Don't use it unless you are on an unlimited data package. Very easy to get through several MB in a few minutes.
