Terry wrote an excellent trip report in which he mentions:

Off again 1t 6.20am, through the last few locks before Oxford. Turned
right onto Duke's Cut at 10.20am and had a quick weed hatch visit to
clear the prop before getting onto the Thames. 20 minute delay at
King's lock while I bought a 15 day visitor's license, finally leaving
King's Lock at 11.20am.

What has always puzzled me is, why, when River licensed boats pass through
canal sections, they are given 14 days to travel through, why haven't canal
licensed boats got the same, when they pass through River sections? After all,
canal licensed boats pay more for their license

I thought, BW and the EA are both run by the same company.
