On the other hand we have had some really nasty types who swear at us if we ask. Strangely enough these are often not the ones who hide in their boats but the more look at me ones. In general if a boat has a large genni in sight on deck we avoid mooring near it. What really annoys is them that have theirs hidden and don't switch on until they want to watch TV or, in one case do the washing (always do it 8pm to 11pm) having moored at 1pm just in front of us on an empty mooring.
