--- And all I got was a wee and a cuddle from a kind stranger who was about to
embark on her first canal boat trip to celebrate her birthday. She had seen
how upset, embarrassed and frustrated I was by the whole affair.

Back to Jannock for a lukecold shower in a cramped bathroom. Oh, and I broke
a nail!

Great reading Brenda, LOL etc.--I'd be upset if I got a wee from a stranger
though!
That reminds me, being a guest of Limehouse visitor moorings a couple of weeks
ago, I was irked by the info that casual visitors can no longer use the
toilets, showers & washing machines in the octagonal office/lockkeepers'
building.
Naturally if you want to pay an arm & a leg for central pontoon moorings then
you are more than welcome! By chance I spoke to the manager of the marina when
imbibing in the Cruising Association bar & she told me that it's because BW
have ceased funding BWML for the facilities offered.
However, when passing through Old Ford Lock on the River Lee, I
was intrigued to to see that the defunct lock [for god knows how many years] is
being restored to full use.
A BW man on the spot told me ''I'll give you two words for the reason why,
Olympics & Olympics.''
So now you have the ludicrous situation of a restored lock that's
totally unnecessary given the traffic levels @ Old Ford & a very handy facility
being denied to people that *is* necessary--or @ least desirable!

P.S. Saw 'ONX' from the air in Griff's excellent 'Rivers' last night featuring
the River Lee.
