Hey, not bad eh? (For a technophile like me). Actually I was grateful to those
who offered suggestions, however it was so easy to post photos in the , er,
well, the photo section on here. Three to start with and more in the pipe
awaiting approval.
Morning Cloud was a dream to handle apart from one slight tendency for the
stern to cartwheel to the starbo (sorry) the right when going astern in shallow
parts. When in Ellesmere Port and right down in the bottom lagoon, she
impressed many gongoozlers by turning within her own length with tiller hard
over.
I recall climbimg the Northgate triple on the return trip and finding the
middle chamber completely empty and the paddle gear jammed solid preventing
filling. We had to lever the gears until whatever obstruction was overcome by
brute force. We made it back into Chester with seriously failing light for
another wonderful nightstop beside the Forest and Firkin pub.
(I must refrain from using marine terms which come from my seafaring days
fishing off the North East coast)
