Currently out on the water & on the way to Linslade & return [Aylesbury is
denied us owing to stoppages] Whilst pulling open a recalcitrant bottom gate
somewhere near Jannock/Parglenaville I caught the  heel  of my shoe on one of
the raised bricks for traction. Consequently, with the beam moving smoothly I
was walking backwards but unable to leap with alacrity round the beam in order
to continue the opening movement with my backside. Instead, I found my leg
remaining in situ & the beam slowly but surely forcing me to lie down on my
back, [luckily the rain wasn't in evidence & the ground was dry] the beam
passing over my face like an eclipse. It's the sort of thing I'd have loved to
have seen but couldn't as I was too close to the action!
