Keep your fingers crossed that it works out to our (for which read *her*) liking then 'cos if we buy a wee yachet there'll be the odd invite to come and crew in the offing :-)
11, oddly enough, was the age I started sailing too - albeit in a Cadet dinghy on the local reservoir. Mind you, apart from a couple of (probably redundant) winches, the rig on the Moody is about as complex (i.e.; not complex at all) as the rig on that dinghy. 5 bits of string to pull on and a stick to waggle about - that's about it. Some of the stuff I sailed later on had several extraneous go faster strings but I had a look at a modern Fireball a few years back and it looked like an explosion in a rope factory! I've no idea what half the damn lines actually do but since they're all colour coded it looked very pretty :-) Bru > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] > On Behalf Of Ian Cardinal > Sent: 03 December 2009 15:50 > To: [email protected] > Subject: RE: [canals-list] RE: Different Boats (was Re: Carrying > capacity) > > Ooh nice.
