That would only work if on-board Sat Nav (which I presume is what you're talking about) was accurate enough to make the positioning of the taxi foolproof........and it isn't accurate enough to make human intervention unecessary at the moment. The only way to have the accuracy need for precise directional steering/navigation (at the moment) is buried cables in the road or perhaps some form of junction-identification road side beacons.
