The idea was to get out from Church Minshull for a week or so, starting yesterday.
Plan A - Llangollen and back. Aborted when uncertainty about visitor moorings was trumped by the breach at Bettisfield. It seems that, per Waterscape, the contractor and British Waterways staff involved in the works at Cornhill have, after an immense effort, ensured that this section of canal will be open to navigation over the Christmas period. Plan B - Chester & back. Aborted by threat of very low temperatures as new year approaches and subsequent risk of getting frozen in. Still predicting minus 5C by the weekend. Plan C - a gentle chug to Middlewich. Aborted by prospect of a snow hit 5 hour (or worse) drive north through the Midlands Maybe it's namby pamby but we've decide to stay at home in Dorset to enjoy the best of the country's weather as predicted by the BBC Tue - light rain Weds - heavy rain Thurs - light rain Fri - sleet showers Sat - sunny intervals I'm usefully spending my time planning a) Ribble Link excursion and the Lancaster - April to June 2010 and b) the merits of 2 pack blacking for UM's emergence from the water in early spring. All the best for 2010 Beekies
