Notice is hereby given that due to a mechanical breakdown the Barton Aqueduct (situated on the Leigh Branch of the Bridgewater Canal) will remain closed to navigation until further notice. A swing of the Aqueduct will be made at 10.30 on Saturday 23^rd January 2010 only craft at the Aqueduct at this time will be allowed through. Please note substantial ice remains on the canal. A review of the position will take place on Monday 25^th January 2010.
