Screwfix sell it as safety equipment, rather than a luxury lifestyle aid.

I guess it's useful to stop floors getting slippery when there is a
risk of leaks, spillages etc.

Perhaps there's a bit of a mark-up on H&S equipment where there might
be a duty on an employer to provide it.
