In our run up to departure from Aqueduct Marina, scheduled Saturday, we have just a few bits and pieces to sort out.
Then it's up the T&M to Preston Brook, a side trip into picturesque Runcorn and a peek at the Runc. The Bridgewater into Manchester then back out and up to Wigan en route the Rufford bit. Ribble Link scheduled Monday 26th, then the Lancaster for several weeks. All new for us after Anderton. Incidentally - we did get the hull sandblasted and two packed, with the top rubbing strake and above matt blacked. So we have new paint to scrape off, probably before we get past Middlewich. Also 4 new anodes - the 2nd replacement set since new in Jan 2003. And a new set of domestic batteries. And we have the posh recently powder coated chimneys that now look eminently steal-able. Finally I was able to apply Martin P's recommended marvellous flexi stove fixative. Went on like magic with the forefinger and I wonder how long that will last (not the finger, the goo) So the wrong side of £2500 maintenance expenses since the last excursion. Hope we like this cruising caper, I wonder if it'll catch on ? Beeky
