Cruising to be Champions 5
Thursday 6th May - Evening
Moored at Milford on the Staffs and Worcs
Well the? has disappeared from the title line, because even though we didn’t
get to the top of the Erewash on “Patty Ann” we did get there in the car and it
was all worth while as Southport beat Eastwood 0-3 while Fleetwood also won,
but it didn’t matter. We won the league by a point and we are going to be
playing in the Blue Square Premier next season.
What it also meant was that we didn’t have a stress of the play-offs this
season so it has now enabled us to take the car home again, it’s magic when we
don’t need to car hop, that being a real pain as you who have done it will no.
We spent the last weekend at Great Haywood at the Junction of the Trent and
Mersey and the Staffs and Worcs. It was a nice weekend watching all the traffic
coming and going, including the big Woolwich “Hawkesbury” that is now being
used as a charter boat, with the skipper Richard training a young lad to steer
for him.
We are now heading for Penkridge for the weekend and then off cruising back up
north via the Shropshire Union to be in Middlewich for the Folk and Boat
festival.
Any one in the area fancying a brew or a pint?
