Which is Grimshaw's?

We were once stuck for nearly an hour between Droylesden & Fairfield
swing bridges and we only draw 2' 3".
I was about to consider wading through all the muck & grime to get to
the bank when a passing cyclist suggested I throw him a windlass and he
went up to the lock and let some water down.
