Form an orderly queue, ladies, if you > please... :-) The only memory I have of achieving the grand old age of *21* is suddenly realising (at about 8pm!) that it was my birthday; I might have remembered more but the following couple of hours spent leaning on the bar of the 'Railway', in Gosport, was rather too successful in washing everything out of the five brain cells I had in those days (I might have had more but you have to remember that most things were still rationed when I was born :-)
We should have already been on our way to Bahrain at the time but the dockyard maties still hadn't managed to get the aircon (also circa 1944..) working properly so the boats didn't actually set sail until mid-December. The family were so determined I should get the traditional 'Key of the door' that I joined the Queen and had my official 'birthday' a month early ( *21* was much more important in those days than it is now <g> ) As for the Ladies - well, the big 'V' easily covers that problem :-))>> Trevor [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
