The number of both hire boat licences and private licenses are up this
year. Like the Thames most of the bank is under riparian ownership.
The Broads Authority have had their money for this year cut already and
are facing year on year cuts over the next 4 years but they have
increased the number of public free moorings over the past few years.
For my sins I am now the IWA representative on the Broads Forum and
have just attended my first meeting. There is also a representative for
the parish councils in the Broads Area.
