We (CUCT) are currently looking at commissioning this but I'm (personally) wondering whether the money would be well spent at this time if no-one is going to use the last bit of canal until we have more of the Uttoxeter Canal to cruise. For all Froghall is a stunningly beautiful location, no serious money is going to be made here even if every boat that visits the Caldon came to Froghall. Indeed the ice cream shop is the only retail business here, unless you wander down to the Railway (by which I mean both the station and pub). My impression from the unscientific response here is that a few people would drop into the basin and moor but most wouldn't bother as they prefer to turn round and head back to one of the pubs at Consall, Cheddleton or Denford. I guess we need to get digging down the valley. The Cricketer's Arms in Oakamoor is a potentially very good canalside pub! Steve
