First, I want to thank the Capistrano community for developing such a great tool. I'm the maintainer of an open source, scalable database called Hypertable <http://hypertable.com>. We've been using Capistrano for many years as our cluster administration tool and have gotten great mileage out of it. Over the years we've compiled a list of features that we've wanted and finally got to the point where we decided to re-write our own tool. This tool is based around the same *role* and *task* concepts as Capistrano, but adds a number of additional improvements. Some of the "improvements" aren't things that you would necessarily want to add to Capistrano (e.g. elimination of dependency on Ruby), but there are other improvements that could be added to Capistrano. Take a look at the blog post New Cluster Administration Tool - ht_cluster <http://hypertable.com/blog/new_cluster_administration_tool_ht_cluster/> for a description of this new new tool and how it differs from Capistrano.
