I'm not for that idea, but I can't help but suggest a better method: shift. It's already there, just use IT to differentiate.
But I say the $ and € don't need to be that accessible. I reside in the US, so I don't ever use the euro sign, but I don't know if that's the case with others using the dollar sign. If it is, then just have the keyboard layouts use their country's corresponding currency sign, without bringing them to the demonspawn key's former position. @'s good, but it doesn't need a key as big as C-lock is now. We can fit two standard-sized keys in there easily.
