On 10.11, PICT files which include text in the Symbol font are not rendering correctly. Characters drawn using other fonts (such as Times) do render correctly, but any characters drawn in Symbol do not show up when the PICT is viewed in Preview, QuickLook, or GraphicConverter 9. In addition, any characters drawn after the Symbol characters will not show up, even if they're in Times or another font.
The same PICT files render correctly in 10.10, leading me to believe this is a bug in the Symbol font included with 10.11 (its first update in a few OS versions).
