WSO2 Carbon 3.1.0 Released We are pleased to announce the release of WSO2 Carbon 3.1.0
WSO2 Carbon is the base platform for all WSO2 products, powered by OSGi. It is a lightweight, high performing platform which is a collection of OSGi bundles. All the major features which are included in WSO2 products have been developed as pluggable Carbon components and installed into this base Carbon platform. Carbon base platform includes many key features that are used by all products which runs on top of it. An open source product, WSO2 Carbon is available under the Apache Software License (v2.0) <http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0.html> What's New In This Release - Enhancements to the Feature Manager. - Various bug fixes( recored at https://www.wso2.org/jira/browse/CARBON/fixforversion/10342) & enhancements to other key features. Key Features - *Core SOA Functionality* - Mechanisms for providing and consuming services, message mediation, service orchestration, service governance, business process management and service monitoring. - *Easy configuration* - Easy configuration via a rich Web-based graphical management console allows remote administration of the system. Loose coupling ensures implicit dependencies and highlights explicit dependencies. Clear interfacing for component configuration. Configuration and management of the system infrastructure facilitated by monitoring message flows, message tracing and other statistics. - *Provisioning support* - The Feature Manager which comes with WSO2 Carbon can be used to install any Carbon feature (A collection of OSGi bundles) into Carbon core. This can be used to create a customized Carbon based product according to user requirements. - *User management* - Management of users and roles are completely handled by Carbon core. - *Registry* - The Registry API comes from Carbon core. - *Extensible and future-proof* - OSGi-based extensibility allows patching on the fly. It also makes it future-proof, as components not in use today can be plugged in when your IT infrastructure demands it. - *Enterprise Deployments* - Enterprise ready for large deployments with clustering, high availability and scalability built in.
