You got to inform the community BEFORE you start work on things to get
comments.

I am sure that this is a useful component. But still, it is pointless to
start the discussion AFTER the implementation. If someone finds that this
could have been done better, there is re-work, re-design involved.

Yes, we often need something working ASAP to provide useful feedback, still
it does not harm to send a note beforehand. Even if no one really cares
about providing feedback.
