When we want to avoid putting the same file in two places .. we are using svn externs
But they added lot of complexity IMO .. slow down the checkout .. are they worth it? isn't there a better way? what if we refer to them as ../.. .. etc? We use the same mechanism for https://svn.wso2.org/repos/wso2/trunk/carbon/service-stubs/org.wso2.carbon.humantask.skeleton and https://svn.wso2.org/repos/wso2/trunk/carbon/service-stubs/org.wso2.carbon.humantask.stub. It'll be hard to maintain these without svn externals.
