Hi Samisa,
There is a workaround. Can you please comment out the following section
from the platform pom.xml
<id>default</id>
<activation>
<activeByDefault>true</activeByDefault>
</activation>
<!-- <modules>
<module>dependencies</module>
<module>orbit</module>
<module>service-stubs</module>
<module>core</module>
<module>components</module>
<module>features</module>
<module>samples/shopping-cart</module>

</profile>
Then invoke the 'mvn clean install' from the top level. This will allow the
platform pom to be added to the .m2 repo.
Then try to build carbon core.
