Hello Elpidio and Joachim,

Maybe I havent explained well my question because of my poor english. I
would like to know if someone is develeping a module to implement the DRG
assignment process.
As far as I know this process is implemented in many softwares. The grouping
is based on diagnoses, procedures performed, age, sex and status at
discharge and starts from the Main Diagnostic Category (MDC). For each MDC
a decision tree is designed with branching nodes. The classification rules
of the DRG system are presented in the DRG Definitions Manual.
Argentina is starting to use DRG, so I have little experience on it. In my
opinion it could be an useful feature to add to Care for all countries with
payment system based on DRG. What do you think?

Regards,

Guillermo Fritz

Hello Guillermo,

the algorithm for this is quite "trivial". It can be done in hundreds of
ways.
So a probably existing patent for this is just a waste of money.

Cheers,
