There is a solution to that which is being used by a few groups or individuals. A new special branch is simply created for them where they can commit anything they like including "messing" it up. This does not mess up the main branch or the release version branches. Examples: are the branches for the Tanzanian group, Zungenmaier and Schenk branches, etc. > Nevertheless, as of updates of special modules - or say of the help files > - or maybe even of the translations, for them it *might* be of advance to > bypass Elpidio. A proof is the Coni-servizi version. > It might even be a challenge to increase engagement?! > > So the first question I suggest is, who is willing to take responsibility > for a certain sub-task? > Or, beginning with Elpidio, what task would you delegate first if you had > the right person to take it? Based on my experience with this project, we should begin with the first question: "who is willing to take responsibility for what?". If that is answered, it is very easy to delegate the task. Of course, one should be very much aware that it does not end with simply saying "ok, I will do it". Actually working on a task is much more complex than one's first impression of it. Therefore, one must be very sure of himself to avoid losing the interest in the middle of the road and dropping the task. (To be honest, it happened hundreds of times before. Most people are just not aware of it. ) After a little more than 2 years of this project, I have collected so much impressions and observed phenomenons that at first time I thought could be unique to care2x alone. Then 2 weeks ago, I discovered this document that showed those things to be rather universal in open source.
