Dear Care2x Programmers,

I am looking at Care2x for a small hospital in Uganda. Are you aware of
any Care2x users in Uganda or other parts of Africa?

I tried to contact users (Fosfa, ELCT in Tanzania) off your online demo list but I appreciate any names you can give me. If you prefer please feel free to pass on my email to any Care2x contact.

I am a volunteer with http://www.humaninet.org/wis/index.asp

Now, that's an interesting use for Care2x. Real life, pragmatic field testing by a low resources humanitarian NGO.

Are you aware of any Care2x users in Uganda or other parts of Africa?
Are you aware of any programmers located in Africa that can provide minor
customizations.

See? This is pragmatism in action. He really wants to use Care2x. He has used similar applications before. He knows that he needs field help in order to successfully continue to rely on Care2x.
This could be a success case as it seems that, in this case, accounting, billing, ledger do not seem to be an urgent need.

In the future will Care2x be enabled to use touchscreen monitors.

Care2x is already able to use touchscreen monitors. Care2x menus lend themselves to that, the problem is keying in text. In this case it is much more straightforward to use a silicon membrane dust resistant field computer/keyboard, or a plain cheap small keyboard that we throw away from time to time and substitute for a new one (although voice recognition or EEG interfacing would be even better...perhaps in 2010?).

This is a project that I am willing to help from Portugal. I have been there (Mozambique/UN/Onumoz mission). I know that in such missions we have limited resources, little time and too many things to do. So, in that circumstance we tend to look for the best and more pragmatic tools that we are able to grab.
In this setting I think that Care2x could be a marvelous help and an added value for any mission.

Best regards,
J. Antas
