maybe you still did that test.. but can you post the output of the phpinfo? > I have chmod'ed the whole root directory. The funny part is when I > replace the index.php with a blank one, it opens. Waht do you mean with blank? Just an empty php file or did you have there the php starting and ending parser comments? What perissions did you set by chmod? Especially the template_c folder for smarty.
